Funding Programs
Funding is available to faculty for symposia and special projects. Listed below are opportunities and associated forms for submission to the institute:
Carolinas Medical Center - UNC Charlotte Collaborative Grants Program
The collaborative research grants program of The Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) and The Charlotte Research Institute at UNC Charlotte (UNCC) will continue in 2010-2011 and proposals are now being solicited.
This program, created by Dr. Herbert Bonkovsky, Vice President for Research at Carolinas Medical Center and Dr. Robert Wilhelm, Associate Provost for Strategic Research Partnerships and Executive Director of the Charlotte Research Institute at UNC Charlotte, encourages and facilitates new collaborative research of the best quality at CMC and UNCC. To date six research projects have been funded.
The goal of the program is to create new research collaborations that include principal investigators from CMC and UNCC. Investigators are asked to prepare seed grant proposals for research that will lead to grant applications to external federal or other granting agencies. The amounts requested should not exceed $50,000 and extra consideration will be given to requests less than the maximal amount so that more projects can be funded.
The deadlines for proposal submission are on March 1 and October 1.
